My Biography
Regalyke was born Kingsley Obika; who spent his
formative
years focused on educational pursuits; having received
his secondary education in Community Grammar School
Akowonjo,
where he was an aspiring chemical engineer.
While following the conventional route, he felt
the
stirring of yet another calling and as time would
tell, his musical potential became obvious and
concrete.
During the early days, he performed at school events
and
outdoor occasions and delivered impressively. His
vibrant charisma added sizzle to his musical
flavoring.
“Kizzo”, as he was known back then,
improvised and composed his own melodies and lyrics
and through sheer
inspiration discovered his rapping
skills after performing a series of rap tracks by his
mentors such as P. Diddy, Nas,
and Jay Z. For many
of his colleagues, the memories of a concert held in
his school in the year 1999 will
always linger, as it
was a show delivered in style and simplicity.
During his final year in secondary school,
Kizzo had
already gained popularity as a polished act whose
repertoire attracted the interest of a Hip hop Gospel
group/family
known as G.T. Inc. He was virtually
abducted as a member and quickly rose to his newest
status, along with his
new moniker, "Regalyke". The G.T.
Family groomed Regal to perfection with countless live
acts, and studio recordings.
Time changes things,
G.T. Inc. and their recording pursuits succumbed to
members who didn't pass the test of time, it’s
numbers
dwindling to four who are each working on solo
projects.
As of now, Regalyke is an entertainer
six years into the
business and of course six years in the making,
prepped and primed to explode on the scene.
He
is a core rapper, cultivated into pop music and
will forge these genres with fire and soul into his
debut album,
"One Me". Tough times created delays,
but tough people prevail against such delays, and
Regalyke likes to
eat delays for snacks.
The time is nearing, and with Regalyke's
fiery demo track
blazing it’s way forward, the arrival of that time is
imminent!
